As an aerospace and defense company, the loss or theft of Raytheon Technologies’ (RTX) intellectual capital can threaten national security, compromise years of costly research and development, and weaken the U.S. economy. Raytheon’s Global Security Services’ (GSS) Counterintelligence & Investigations (CI&I) is well-positioned to lead the way to protect Raytheon’s and Customers’ capital through safeguarding people, data, resources, and facilities from a myriad of known or suspected threats.
To handle this challenging problem set, we work closely with GSS’ Industrial Security, Physical Security, Cybersecurity, Strategic Business Units (SBUs) Security Business Partners, and Special Programs, as well as Raytheon’s Legal, Contracts & Compliance (LCC), Global Ethics & Compliance (GEC), Human Resources (HR), Employee Relations (ER), Labor Relations (LR), and Digital Technologies (DT) functions, and partner with Federal, State, and Local law-enforcement (LE), intelligence and security agencies, Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency (DCSA), and Military Departments Counterintelligence Organizations (MDCO).
What You Will Do:
As a Counterintelligence & Investigations Investigator, You will possess and demonstrate your extensive knowledge, training, and experience within counterintelligence (CI) and/or investigative fields, with the preference of having in-depth experience in both. You should possess in-depth CI experience, preferably in an operational environment, that involves the full range of detection and mitigation strategies as it pertained to Foreign Intelligence Entities (FIE) and Insider Threats (InT).
You will also possess considerable hands-on experience both in independently conducting, but also in leading others in the full range of CI and InT inquiries and investigations from start to finish. You will serve as an investigator for Raytheon CI&I team based in El Segundo, CA, reporting directly to the Raytheon CI&I Lead. You will operate independently with little management oversight to provide expert-level CI&I and execute the following, but not limited to, duties at the direction of the Raytheon CI&I Lead in support to Raytheon Business.
- Independently plan and conduct a wide range of investigations that result in sound outcomes/determinations, capable of withstanding judicial and administrative scrutiny into noncompliance with Customer regulatory requirements, Company policies, procedures and ethics policies, and violations of the law.
- Conduct CI and InT investigations to thwart probability of espionage, sabotage, and loss, compromise, or suspected compromise of Raytheon most private information and intellectual property, and Customers’ classified information, as well as coordinate with Programs’ Leadership to implement corrective actions to prevent a recurrence.
- Conduct InT deep-dive analysis, inquiries, and investigations in support of Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Programs.
- Assist LCC investigations, to include data collection and interviewing, into suspected violations of the Export Administration Regulations / International Traffic in Arms Regulations (EAR/ITAR), company credit card fraud, ethics policy, labor mischarging, etc.
- Provide information, products, and training to Raytheon GSS and Other Functions’ staff to develop and enable effective Security and CI awareness briefings and programs.

Qualifications You Must Have
Education and Experience:
- Typically requires a B.A./B.S. in fields such as Criminal Justice Administration, International Security, Information Systems, International Relations, National Security, Cybersecurity, Business Management/Administration, or other related fields, and a minimum of eight years’ of experience in Counterintelligence, Investigations, Law Enforcement, Internal Affairs Investigations or Auditing, and/or Intelligence (e.g. Collections, Operations or Analysis); or Advanced Post Graduate Degree in one of above-mentioned fields, plus 5 or more years related work experience; or In lieu of a Bachelor’s or Advanced Post Graduate degree, 12 or more years related work experience will be considered at the Hiring Manager's discretion.
- Active and transferable U.S. Government issued active Top-Secret clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Skills & Certifications:
Qualifications We Prefer
- Certification by a federal credentialing counterintelligence or investigative agency.
- Prior Law Enforcement Experience.
- Hands-on experience with investigations involving CI, SCI, SAP, and/or ITAR/EAR violations.
- Familiarity with DoD Manual 5205.07 Volumes 1 thru 4.
- Familiarity with DoD 5200.01 Volumes 1 thru 3, and incident reporting process in accordance with DoD 5200.01 volume 3.

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
