Cross training between specialties Cath/EP/Vascular pre/post care and nightly late requirements to cover recovery room. Off hour Call in's for cardioversion unable to be done during normal working hours.

Maintains a computerized, evolving plan of care based on nursing assessment, the medical plan of care and patient need. The plan initiated according to department standards.

Provides patient care, which demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of normal physiology and disease pathophysiology, appropriate nursing and medical interventions and a knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan.

Implements patient pre and post care based on evidence based practice.

Provides teaching and discharge planning based on assessment of self-care knowledge/ability on an ongoing basis.

In collaboration with the physicians able to intervene as appropriate to prevent complications.

Able to perform sheath removal with good hemostasis, using appropriate method for each patient: manual hold or any method of groin closure used in Cath or EP lab.

VII. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
-
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN required. Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of State Bureau of Occupational and Professional Affairs.

Prefer Experience: *1-2 years' in Cardiac Cath/EP Lab or Radiology Special Procedures Room/ OR/PACU pre post care
-
Will consider 1-2 years Critical Care/ Interventional/Emergency experience. Certification encouraged as Cardiac RN or CCRN.
*** Very strong background required in Cardiovascular Anatomy, Physiology,
Pathophysiology, Waveform Analysis, Arrhythmia Detection and Cardio-
Vascular Pharmacology and computer experience.
C. Other Skills:
1. Certified in B.L.S. for Healthcare Provider and ACLS
2. Excellent interpersonal and team building skills and knowledge of computer functionality
