The Senior Calibration Technician performs equipment calibration activities for U.S. sites. Job duties:
Perform calibration on designated equipment and generate in-house calibration certifications.
Ensure all applicable production equipment and designated laboratory equipment is calibrated within schedule and in accordance with procedures.
Maintain information on calibrated equipment in the calibration software database.
Provide monthly list of equipment due for calibration.
Prepare calibration procedures using word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software and process through Document Control.
Perform routine audit of equipment calibration.
Coordinate calibration with equipment users (Manufacturing, QC lab, Engineering lab, etc.) and outside calibration services. Prepare and ship equipment to contracted calibration service providers. Review calibration documentation provided by calibration service providers.
Review and approve in-house calibration records.
Collaborate and provide technical support for out-of-tolerance and calibration overdue investigations.
Provide metrology technical support to other departments.
Scan/upload calibration certifications to electronic storage locations.
Complete assigned tasks and projects.
Minimum four (4) years of experience in medical device industry, in technical roles such as in equipment calibration or equipment maintenance.
Experience using measuring equipment and tooling involved with equipment calibration.
Ability to understand basic equipment calibration requirements and activities.
Desired Qualifications
Good computer skills, especially with Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communications. Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in controlled environments (clean rooms).
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of Quality Systems for medical device manufacturing and requirements for inspection and testing.
Knowledge of ISO 13485 – Medical Devices Quality Management Systems.
Knowledge of ISO 17025 – General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.
Formal education in metrology. ASQ CCT or equivalent certification/education preferred.
Ability to travel among three U.S. sites (one in Tustin and two in Aliso Viejo, CA).
