Job Description

AECOM is seeking an initiative taking CBTC Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join our World Class Rail Systems Rail Team in our New York, NY office. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing & commissioning CBTC systems and CBTC systems deployment on client properties. This will support the CBTC system designs and will interface with various disciplines, preparing designs, conducting research, developing technical documentation, providing technical support to clients, and construction management support.

Daily duties and responsibilities:

Assist in the definition of testing & commissioning plans.
Collaborate with stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Preparing and leading the testing of CBTC systems ensuring compliance with requirements.
Performing tests and issuing reports.
Developing technical, design and functional specifications for CBTC and related systems.
Building technical documentation using client specifications and design standards.
Conducting research and analysis of client processes, operations, and safety standards.
Reviewing vendor documentation to ensure compliance with client standards.
Ensuring accuracy and completeness of technical documentation.
Assisting with the development of technical proposals.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field plus six years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five years of experience in CBTC systems engineering.
10 years’ experience in transit or related industry.
Professional Engineering License.
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit3D Modeling or other design software.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills.
