Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Provide reference and reader's advisory for patrons of all ages.
Perform general reference work on a public service desk.
Process Inter-library Loans.
Serve as technical liaison for the branch.
Organize and maintain reference collection.
May be called upon to assist at Circulation Desk as needed.
Perform general branch/department tasks.
May occasionally serve as department manager/branch manager.
Education, Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of paraprofessional library work providing reference and reader's advisory to patrons is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of general reference sources.
Knowledge of electronic information resources.
A strong public service orientation.
Physical Conditions & Additional Information
Ability to push book trucks, carts, and lift up to 30 pounds; ability to be able to stand up to four hours at a stretch. Contacts would include supervisor, staff, and public.
