Position: Senior Software Engineer
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects. Proactively identify areas in which to drive automation, speed, and innovation for operational excellence. Create Grafana dashboards and set up Splunk alerts for monitoring application metrics such as latencies, error rates, throughput, and pod health status. Develop critical Restful API applications used across the organization for data and system metrics for root cause analysis. Support containerized applications deployed in Kubernetes including setting up, scaling, and decommissioning application pods and containers. Involved in the CI/CD process by using GitHub, Kubernetes, and Docker. Develop the necessary tools for operational success. Implement database structure in Hive and NoSQL Cassandra database for scheduling critical reports for business needs. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information; performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues; and engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Develop solutions; drive the development of action plans; perform actions as designated in the plans; and complete online documentation. Drive multiple production incident calls, summarize action plans for each owner, and follow-up until closure.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.
Skills required: Experience with Python. Experience with Java. Experience utilizing the following CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Git, and GitHub. Experience with DevOps monitoring tools including Grafana, Splunk, and Prometheus. Experience analyzing data using big data technologies including Hive, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Scala, Apache Solr, and SQL. Experience with NoSQL database Cassandra. Experience working within cloud environments including Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and OneOps. Experience working with Kubernetes, Pods, Containers, and Docker. Experience with Kafka. Experience with RESTful API and REST Webservices. Experience with UNIX. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $150,762/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.? Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
