Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the Rehabilitation & Movement Science within the School of Health Professions (SHP).
The Student Assistant will assist faculty members in supporting the educational and instructional objectives of the OTD Program. Working closely with faculty members, you will assist in delivering high-quality teaching, facilitate student learning, and contribute to the overall academic success of students. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our educational team as a Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will be dedicated to helping others learn by facilitating and utilizing active learning strategies to assist students to be successful in their coursework. The Student Assistant will work closely with faculty to assist in gathering materials and assisting with learning and support for students enrolled in the OTD program. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to teaching and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals receiving an OTD education.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Classroom Support: - Assist faculty members in preparing instructional materials, setting up equipment, and organizing classroom activities.
- Provide support during lectures, seminars, and lab sessions, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.
- Offer one-on-one or small group assistance to students who require additional help with course content or assignments.
Grading and Assessment: - Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their understanding and performance.
- Communicate relevant information to faculty members as needed.
Office Hours and Consultation: - Hold regular office hours to provide academic support and guidance to students outside of class time.
- Address student inquiries, clarify course material, and help with assignments or projects.
- Collaborate with faculty members to develop strategies for addressing student concerns and improving learning outcomes.
Administrative Support: - Coordinate with faculty members and other SAs to ensure smooth operation of courses and adherence to academic policies.
- Help organize and facilitate academic events, workshops, or seminars related to the course or program.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Conduct thorough literature reviews and summarize relevant research findings and contribute to the development of research hypotheses.
- Administer assessments, surveys, and other data collection tools in accordance with teaching standards.
