The Lending Origination Specialist I performs a variety of administrative tasks to support the post-close loan review of commercial, agricultural, and consumer loans, both real estate and non-real estate, by reviewing all closing documents through the loan documentation system and writing loan exceptions as applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review loan closing documents for all commercial, agricultural, and consumer loans in the documentation system for policy adherence, collateral perfection, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist loan officers and assistants regarding clearing exceptions by communication through email, tickets, Microsoft Teams calls, and lending system platforms.
- Performs exception scrubs on a quarterly basis.
- Research exception questions by using provided resources such as credit policy and various manuals.
- Cross-trains to grow loan knowledge and better equip the department.
- Keeps updated on continually changing procedures and policies.
- Stays current with lien perfection requirements in multiple states.
- Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
