Position Summary and Responsibilities
The de Leeuw Lab at Vassar College is seeking a full-time Research Software Engineer to support the development of an NSF-funded open-source ecosystem for behavioral experiments. The Research Software Engineer’s primary role will be to design and implement improvements to the developer-focused infrastructure for jsPsych and related tools.
Responsibilities:
Implement new continuous integration/deployment tools such as end-to-end testing through BrowserStack and automated documentation deployment.
Implement new command line tools for community contributions repositories and for 3rd party repositories.
Coordinate continuous integration/deployment work with ecosystem partners to create a cohesive developer experience across the ecosystem
Implement development changes such as static code analysis to meet OpenSSF scorecard standards, and adding an automated citation tool.
Teach and assist at the hackathons
Contribute to technical documentation and provide community support, especially for advanced questions from developers.
This is a two-year, full-time, grant-funded position.
Qualifications
Required
Undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field.
Three years of experience with JavaScript development.
Experience with GitHub repository management.
Preferred
Experience working with jsPsych.
Experience with GitHub actions or other tools for continuous integration and deployment.
Experience conducting or supporting research in the behavioral sciences.
Compensation
The starting annual base salary range for this position is $68,900-$95,000.
