The Design Intern is a part-time position located in the Solon, Ohio office of Tarkett North America. The intern is responsible for both commercial projects working with the Manager of Visual and Creative Communications. The ideal candidate will work well independently and in small groups to complete design specific project details.
In This Position, You Will Have the Opportunity to:
- Gather information to develop floor plans for showrooms
- Compile an inventory of artwork/visual displays within showrooms
- Ideate commercial spaces that can become inspiration for product photography imagery
- Use color and material knowledge to create flat lays for commercial design to be used in printed brochures & social media.
- Research and validate industry and market trends that will be affecting the future of design, specific to commercial segments.
What You Need to Succeed in This Position:
- Third or fourth year student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Graphic Design or related design field of discipline.
- Provide your own laptop computer and e-mail account.
- A knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is helpful.
- A thorough understanding of color theory
- Knowledge of commercial design is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving abilities
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work independently
