The Branch Experience Director at the YMCA is a cause-driven leader responsible for promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This role oversees Sports, Wellness, Child Watch, and Membership, ensuring these programs meet community needs and YMCA objectives. Key responsibilities include directing and supervising program activities, recruiting and developing staff, exploring growth opportunities, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with standards. The Director also handles marketing and member inquiries, tracks departmental goals, and maintains a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
- Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.
- Directs and supervises program and/or location activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA and community objectives.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers for various YMCA programs and initiatives. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate and coach staff in order to achieve identified goals and metrics.
- Explores growth opportunities, expands and evaluates programming, and develops all efforts to achieve success within the community in accordance with YMCA operating plans.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program and membership information; ensures that all applicable publications are accurate and up to date and registration is clear and easy to understand.
- Establishes and tracks departmental and location goals while reporting out on successes and areas of improvement.
- Develops, manages and controls budgets related to all assigned programming. Monitors enrollment and ensures the programs operate within budget and that all program fees are collected and recorded.
- Monitors overall compliance and makes necessary updates based on standards set forth by the state, the YMCA, and industry best practices.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events; manages facilities and equipment needed for programs, and ensures grounds are prepared for the activity.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Compiles program statistics weekly/monthly, as requested. Monitors and evaluates the viability of assigned programs based on enrollment and attendance.?
- Provides staff with ongoing supervision and training related to abuse risk. Provides staff with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with youth. Requires staff to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk. Responds quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organizations progressive disciplinary procedures. Responds seriously and confidently to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follow mandated reporting requirements. Communicates to all staff the organizations commitment to protecting their youth from abuse.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises assigned program staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with
YMCA's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and coaching
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age, bachelor's degree (preferred) in related field or equivalent and have at least two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
- Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations.
- Must complete state-mandated concussion training immediately and keep certification current (renews every 3 years).
- CPR, First Aid, AED certification must be obtained within 90 days
- Completion of YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification within 12 months?
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification; if not certified, must obtain certification within 12 months
Multi-Team leader certification requires: Principles and Practices; Introduction to Volunteerism; Introduction to Leading Others; Introduction to Fiscal Management; Leadership competency assessment; Team Leader Certification Test.
