IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional in the formal practice of project management particularly in the context of Information Technology (IT) initiatives. This person must be able to demonstrate strong leadership ability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strive to provide top-notch customer service, take initiative, be a team player, and possess a strong work ethic.
Essential Functions

Leads and coordinates project & program planning and budgeting for multiple large and complex information technology projects;
Works with client department liaisons and project team staff to define project scope and formulate detailed project & program plans and budgets;
Manages all aspects of the project from planning to execution to completion and provides project & program leadership in conducting business case analyses and defining scope of project including project & program objectives, budget, schedules and critical project milestones;
Manages the identification and selection of project vendors, including RFP preparation, posting, and evaluation/selection; negotiates, manages and administers project-specific contracts within specified project schedules and costs;
Develops and maintains standard documentation in project & program repository (charters, project plans, schedules, agendas, action items lists, etc.);
Presents progress to all stakeholders; conducts project review meetings and communicates project & program status and issues with project staff and other stakeholders
Maintains effective communication and working relationships with project team members; facilitates resolution of conflicts and disagreements among project team participants; facilitates and may participate in the resolution of complex technical issues.
Assist in Project & Program Lifecycle analysis & administration within the Program Management Office

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualifications for Senior IT Project Manager:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in program/project management, management information systems, computer science or a closely related field and at least six (6) years of progressively responsible hands-on experience managing and delivering large and complex IT projects on-time and on-budget using structured methodology and standard project management tools and techniques; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Valid certification from the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is required.
SELECTION PROCESS The tentative selection process will consist of a training and experience evaluation, a panel interview, and a department-level interview.

Candidates selected for this position are subject to a one year probationary work period.
