As the Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for hiring, training, leading, coaching and counseling the warehouse and purchasing team. "What You'll Do"Organize, directs and supervise the work of warehouse employees (approximately 8 direct reports). Ensure the warehouse storage areas are organized according to Lean, 5 S, and Safety principals. Ensure purchases and receipts are properly entered into warehouse supply system Maintain and execute materials management programs. Operate fork-lifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials as needed. Document and maintain inventory and ensure production area organization and cleanliness. Manage the purchases, tracking, and organization of equipment and material. Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Effectively assist in and lead in the creation, implementation, maintenance and improvement of materials management systems. Work closely with Production Manager and Supervisors to eliminate wasteful spend, move to just in time purchasing, and analyze trends to spot opportunities for improvement and implement solutions Interact with vendors and suppliers to negotiate improvements in material costs and vendor performance and assists with forecasting Conduct and manage weekly cycle counts and approvals, along with other inventory adjustments. Trains others on the use of barcode scanners and inventory processes. Secure warehouse appropriately. Protect the Company's investment in tools and equipment Develop and promote a positive and efficient work environment. Lead the LEAN initiatives to support creating efficiencies in the work environment. Develop and maintain relationships with other managers and departments to support a cohesive team environment to serve the customer. Other duties as assigned. Hours of operation are M-F 7:00 am - 4:00 pm "Must Haves"Computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially with proficiency with EXCEL spreadsheets. Prior experience implementing LEAN projects and other efficiency related methodologies. Track record of improving safety and safety procedures. Excellent abilities to prioritize and adjust schedules and instill a sense of urgency in team members while managing multiple projects Aggressive, high-energy, can-do, get-results person with high integrity. Computer literate with computer skills in MS Office. Experience in Oracle is a plus. Prior experience in related work required. Prior experience of at least 5 years in the warehouse/construction industry with an understanding of warehouse practices and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to coach and counsel other workers in a positive manner. Bilingual (English and Spanish) speaking and writing preferred. Experience as Manager in related field or general business Special Considerations:Minimal travel for training or management meetings.
