Job Description
Danfoss Shawnee is looking for an Engineering Team Leader whose primary responsibility will be to provide direct support for the engineers and to work with operations team leaders to prioritize activities. This includes assisting with direct line support and supporting data-driven continuous improvement. The Team Leader will also work closely with the maintenance, test stand support team, and controls team to support project work.
This is an onsite position in Shawnee, Oklahoma, reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Foster teamwork and engagement that embodies Danfoss's values and behaviors • Support and actively participate in the development of products, manufacturing processes, and infrastructure. • Lead manufacturing engineering department to ensure timely completion of product development requirements and other projects as assigned. • Evaluate product design for manufacturability and drive issue resolution. • Willing to be hands-on, flexible, and committed to the success of the company goals. • Develop production testers to ensure system performance. • Influence, lead, and work in cooperation with cross-functional teams to meet changing demands. • Create clear, documented expectations for each team member – including Developmental goals • Provide feedback regularly, while recognizing good performance and correcting performance issues • Design for manufacturing and assembly • Project management - plan development and execution • Reinforce priorities of SQDC within operations • Provide coaching and development planning for engineers • Recruit, mentor, and continue developing interns on the team creating a talent pipeline • Facilitate team meetings with appropriate business content and cascading communication • Have a strong shop floor presence • Guide team to identify waste and opportunities through RCPS, MIFAs, and Pareto charts • Support productivity improvement goal of 10% YOY within Ames Operations • Respond to escalations and help to resolve issues quickly • Foster a continuous improvement culture
Background & Skills
Required Qualifications • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Technical Engineering field • 3-year Manufacturing Engineering experience • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Computer skills: SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) required • Proven problem-solving skills • Strong decision-making skills • Team player who can build positive working relationships
Preferred Qualifications • Master’s degree in engineering • Previous Leadership role experience • 10 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
