Assistant Toddler Teacher – Job description
Responsibilities of this Early Childhood position will include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
· Ensure the safety of each toddler child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas.
· Maintain regular observation and evaluation of children's development and progress as directed by administration.
· Accept and maintain responsibility daily for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom.
· Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech, and actions on a daily basis.
· Treat each child with dignity and respect.
· Encourage children's development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem solving, and taking responsibility for their actions.
· Interact with each child daily through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.
· Assist and report to the Center Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
i. At least 12 units in Child Development; Child, Family, & Community; and ECE Program and Curriculum with at least six months of experience working in a licensed childcare center. (Note: Infant Teachers must have at least 3 units in Infant/Toddler Development).
ii. Criminal Record Clearance
iii. Mandated Reporter Training certificate
iv. Health Screening and TB
v. Immunization records (MMR, Tdap, and flu)
