What’s the job?
Under the direction of the Director of Operations for Specialties, the Plant Manager for Strongsville leads all plant operations, empowering employees to safely and efficiently produce customized wood ceiling/wall panels that meet customer requirements. Areas of focus include:
Has overall responsibility for plant operations including safety, quality, production planning/scheduling, operations, manufacturing engineering, facilities/maintenance, and warehousing/logistics.
Fosters a culture of Trust, Empowerment and Collaboration by ensuring that the Principles of Conduct in Action and Code of Ethics are followed.
Develops staff by coaching and providing information needed to empower employees to achieve corporate, plant, department, and individual objectives; from both an immediate, and long-term perspective.
Leads and supports EHS activities to ensure a safe, healthy environment for employees and the community.
Leads and supports Quality activities for the site ensuring systems and processes are in place to manufacture/ship defect free product to the customer.
Ensures site is producing goods as scheduled to meet current/future demand.
Champions Lean/World Class Manufacturing (WCM) activities focusing on empowering employees to develop efficient process/product flow and eliminate waste.
Budgets/approves all financial expenditures within the established authority for the site.
Collaborates with central teams (Product Development, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Preconstruction, Supply Chain, Purchasing, HR, Finance) to maintain a level of communication which ensures that quality and service needs are met.

What do you bring?
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, industrial management, or the equivalent training and experience, which will provide the necessary knowledge of the laws, regulations, practices and procedures impacting a manufacturing site.
5 to 10 years demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing setting
Good working knowledge of Lean/World Class Manufacturing techniques.
Strong background in industrial safety and training preferred.
Computer proficiency and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with all team members.
Willingness to coach/develop employees.
