BASIC PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to create marketing opportunities for Musket to transport and deliver fuel to a dedicated customer base. Negotiating long term supply deals. Develop a customer base to help provide liquidity for Musket inventory within Regional Supply books, as well as utilizing Musket’s Market Solutions desk to provide customers with innovative solutions to their supply needs, utilizing cross functional teams. This person will have a demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple complex projects and to effectively communicate across project teams, senior management, and to a variety of customers.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact with customers on a daily basis to develop working relationships with them by means of setting up credit, setting up lifting numbers at racks, wholesaling fuel over the various racks we supply, creating new opportunities via railcars into their markets. Also look to blend renewable fuels into hydrocarbons when economics prevail.
Travel to customer sites to understand their underlying business. Attend tradeshow events to represent Musket and network with other markets to develop new marketing opportunities in various markets.
Bid annual contracts for railroads, trucking companies, commercial customers, etc, by researching viable opportunities and bid contracts to maximize return for Musket.
Conduct market research in new areas to find opportunities that may exist for Musket.
Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint expertise. DTN and DTN Exchange, Solarc understanding, Sales Force.
Understanding of financial markets including but not limited to oil and gas trading markets. Reading and understanding of Platt’s’, OPIS, and Argus Media reports.
Understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables Departments. Handling billing issues and fuel tax rates. Also need to be aware of Credit Department requirements for getting customers cleared for credit.
Marketing of Musket services including trans-loaders, ethanol and biodiesel terminal throughput agreements
Other duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
High school Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience - Preferred
Experience:
5 year petroleum, refining, wholesale, trading background
