JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must have knowledge of applicable NEC codes and safety regulations.
Ability to size electrical equipment needed for customer jobs.
Strong communication and comprehension of customer electrical needs to represent NOV on customer job planning.
This may include job site walk throughs.
Build custom electrical distribution racks for customer applications.
Perform electrical installations, repairs, and troubleshooting through use of drawings, schematics, and interpretation.
Assemble and prepare electrical components. Install and test electrical components. Low voltage experience (120v, 208V, & 480V)
Must be able to use volts meter, ohms meter, and megger.
Systematically analyzes malfunction by visual and auditory examination or the use of test equipment.
Performs operational inspection and ensures equipment is properly serviced prior to renting.
Skilled and knowledgeable in the use of hand and power tools, shop equipment to include forklifts, overhead lift cranes, cutting and grinding tools and follows proper procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
Has the knowledge to teach and lead intermediate and apprentice electricians in the fundamentals of electricity.
Trouble shoots.
Complete, Submit, and check over field and shop service documentation in a timely manner.
Size electrical equipment needed for customer jobs.
Help establish procedures for safety and customer satisfactory.
Create simple one-line drawings is preferred.
Represent NOV in job planning meetings and site walk throughs if necessary. Supervise electrical department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
HIghschool Diploma
Must have ability to train and supervise small electrical crew.
5+ years of electrical experience in the marine/industrial industry.
The ability to do electrical drawings is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of theory, principles and repairs relating to electricity.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and wire schematics to determine work procedure
Must be familiar with NEC codes.
Adheres to all established safety policies and standards.
