THE JOB The IT Analyst role has the exciting challenge of examining the City’s systems and IT processes and using their judgment to make suggestions for system-wide improvements or changes. They will take on a variety of projects and duties pertaining to troubleshooting system issues, service desk management, network and server administration, security and database administration, software development, and GIS. This role also provides exemplary customer support to users while managing regularly incoming projects that are often urgent in nature. The IT Analysts will work with a variety of stakeholders, including City employees and leadership and vendor representatives. These positions are on-call on a rotating basis, requiring the IT Analysts to occasionally work evenings and provide 24/7 support. THE IDEAL CANDIDATES The ideal candidates will be well versed in data protection and cybersecurity. They will be concise communicators, often explaining highly technical concepts to employees outside of the IT Department, as well as highly customer service focused. Being able to work well with others and collectively contribute to the betterment of the City’s systems and technological capabilities is paramount to this role. The selected candidates will bring advanced knowledge of programming and scripting systems, Microsoft Window Server systems, Microsoft 365 administration, and operating system and database software. They will be eager to solve complex IT problems while maintaining a calm demeanor and positive attitude.

Valid California Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record, AND
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a closely related field, AND
Several years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation and administration of application server resources. Microsoft MCSA (365 or Azure) Microsoft Role-based Certification (Developer, Administrator, Solutions Architect, Data Scientist, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, or Data Engineer), or equivalent
Desired:
Experience with HP, Lenovo, or Dell Server Hardware installation and maintenance
