As a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase in Legal Technology team in the Corporate Sector, you are an integral part of a team that helps design, verify and improve high-quality, resilient design patterns across the full app lifecycle, inclusive of build, run and advanced technical prototyping. You champion and enable engineering best practices for various software applications and platforms products. You actively liaise with engineers to continuously uplift practice and reduce toil. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple technical domains.
You collaborate with architects and engineering leads across our global technology teams to identify and continuously drive best-in-class engineering tooling and practice and anticipate future business/technology changes. You work with Product and Application Owners to review needs and strategies and understand implications to the application. You effectively communicate implications of tooling and practice decisions, issues and plans to business and technology leadership. You provide support and guidance to the development teams during the analysis, development and testing processes; provide expert knowledge of application architecture and build engineering and consult to Business and Technology teams when detailed application architecture or engineering practice knowledge is needed and identify/mitigate risks to delivering solution on time. You actively foster a sense of connected community and effective information sharing across architects and engineers.
Responsibilities

Accelerating and modernizing applications to the cloud across all corporate technology and line-of-business technology teams to design and socialize solutions and practice.
Participate in the Legal Technology and cross function applied architecture governance and engineering governance and tollgate processes.
Set and lead by hands-on example the engineering/cloud excellence practice for a globally distributed team of engineers and cloud practitioners.
Partner with Site Reliability Engineers, designing application Observability technology and practice for adoption of the same and performance testing and functional testing best practices in Legal Tech.
Evaluate and Execute Cloud Proof of Technology/Concepts on latest industry trends and leverage new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
Challenge designs during the concept and review phases to drive toward re-use, efficiency, security, resiliency, and stability and drive for Cloud Innovation and Enablement
Qualifications
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
Public Cloud, AWS, architectural and engineering experience with a deep understanding of messaging, micro-services, cloud-native and serverless
Software engineering background with a minimum of five years of work experience across the following areas: app/middleware technology, at-scale data management and dependable persistence, internet/API technologies and infrastructure as code
Expert-level analytical skills in architecture/engineering methods and design concepts.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence decision making in a federated, multi-stakeholder environment.
Working knowledge and experience in financial (or similarly regulated) industry
Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all technical and non-technical members of the organization.
Proven ability to lead and mentor team members and other development resources.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Skilled at bringing about clarity in a complex environment and/ or ambiguous situation.
Understanding of relevant technologies and agile, fully-automated, secure development life cycles.
Strong business and product knowledge.
Modern enterprise Java/Spring/Spark/Python/Kafka coding, Tableau/BI, Oracle, Teradata, Redshift, Snowflake, SQL and automated testing
