Serves as a primary point of contact and customer service representative for the Fairfax County Department of Vehicle Services (DVS), Government Center. Performs a variety of accounting and administrative duties supporting the motor pool and Safety Analyst II. Supervises two Vehicle & Equipment Tech Aid positions (Porters) located at the Government Center. Coordinates all motor pool activities to include optimizing fleet usage, training customers and staff, assigning vehicles, completing billing, and preparing fleet utilization metrics, reports, and cost reductions. Investigates and resolves possible deficiencies and discrepancies with billing forms received from contractors. Administers the Voyager Card Program. Administers vehicle violations often associated with E-ZPass, red light, and speed camera. Maintains files for audit purposes.
Schedule: The work schedule for this position is 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Note: The assigned functional areas of the position are general administrative/office support, customer service, and/or automotive maintenance and repair.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and three years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
A valid motor vehicle driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in providing administrative support with strong customer service and organizational skills. Familiar with motor vehicles and general tools, techniques and products used by vehicle and equipment technicians. Ability to multitask, respond to customers, conduct business in a professional manner, work independently, and set priorities. Must be detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, i.e. MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiar with Navigation software and the ability to read maps. Must be punctual, dependable, and able to arrive on-time daily. Possession of current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties may require the ability to walk, stand, bend, carry items less than 5 pounds, and operate keyboard driven equipment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
