GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Support Staff Supervisor, the Support Staff position will help ensure the safety and security of program participants and the facility while providing other general services. These services include, but are not limited to, conducting intakes, orientations and discharges, assisting participants with transportation needs, and assisting participants in conflict resolution and crisis intervention. Under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Act (CANRA), this position is classified as a Mandated Reporter, obligated to report observed/suspected abuse or neglect of children, dependent adults and elders to designated law enforcement and social service agencies. This position is employed by Goodwill Industries® of Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada, Inc., through Next Move Homeless Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide transportation to participants for shopping, medical appointments, childcare, and other trips that would support the program and participants goals.

Perform room checks and monitor facility grounds o ensure the health and safety of the participants, and staff.

Assist participants with minor problems and answer routine questions.

Support participants with achieving program goals.

Document participant policy violations and write incident reports when applicable.

Assist in de-escalating and responding to crisis situations in a calm manner.

Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming and sanitizing of the facility grounds and individual units.

Notify the Support Staff Supervisor of any substantial damages or substandard living conditions.

Complete organizational errands as needed.

Attend the workplace regularly, report to work punctually and follow a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the department and organization.
Other Duties/Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all Next Move Homeless Services and Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada policies, CARF standards, and safety and security regulations.
