The Manager, Content Marketing, develops long- and short-term strategies to effectively convey messages, strengthen brand identity, and boost marketing and communications efforts. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including Operations, Revenue Management, Learning & Development, Investor Relations, and Human Resources. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for the financial administration of marketing activities and ensuring that all marketing initiatives align with the overall business objectives and goals.
Please note that this job position may require in-person office requirements for a minimum of 3 days per week: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, located at Essex's corporate offices in Irvine, Woodland Hills, San Mateo, and Bellevue.
Essential job functions include the following:
Create, manage, and maintain an end-to-end process for special projects including photography, video, and virtual tour shoots; virtual staging; renderings; ADU updates; acquisitions; lease-ups; new service offerings, etc.
Draft briefs, coordinate logistics with teams, maintain project calendars, and communicate updates on project statuses
Manage feedback from various stakeholders and make timely adjustments to projects to address any conflicts
Maintain and manage a network of third-party vendors including agencies and freelancers
Research and meet with vendors routinely to ensure support network is aligned with business objectives and goals
Identify benchmarks, define KPIs, and establish reporting requirements to measure success
Manage requests and work collaboratively with other Essex teams
Maintain inventory of marketing collateral in an efficient and effective manner
Stay abreast of the latest in multifamily technology and trends to enhance strategies and explore innovative solutions
Manage expenses against budget and approve vendor invoices
Lead contract negotiations to ensure all agreements and contracts are in line with business requirements and are cost-effective
Contribute to the development of all Marketing associates and the positive culture of the group as a whole
Participate in all other marketing team activities and planning sessions
Create and oversee editorial calendar
Make business recommendations and data-driven decisions
Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is required
5+ years of relevant corporate experience
2+ years of experience in management
Experience in managing agencies and/or vendors
Proven experience coordinating with technical and business partner teams
Exceptional project management skills
Highly organized individual with the ability to manage multiple projects and work well under time constraints
Familiar with content management best practices
Ability to lead a team of diverse backgrounds and skill sets
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.)
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Takes ownership and initiative to drive projects from inception to completion and navigate roadblocks
Data-driven and understands the importance of KPIs, measurement, tracking and reporting
Firm understanding of user experience, search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) skills
Comfortable with technical detail and IT solutions
Detail-oriented, combined with big picture thinking
Team player and collaborator with a belief in the importance of transparency and sharing
Customer-service oriented
Strong can-do attitude with ability to pivot, as needed
Professional demeanor and positive approach

Experience in real estate, architecture, or multifamily industry
Prior project or program management experience
Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite
Experience in video creation and editing

The salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $132,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $88,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.
This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
