Become a Power System Application Engineer 2 at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will work with a team to perform analysis and provide recommendations to address technical issues as related to Real-Time reliability operation and control of an electric utility. You will also be part of the implementation and deployment of the replacement or enhancement of a Real-Time Power System Network Modeling and Applications. Work closely with the business clients to understand their requirements and understanding of how the business uses the applications for reliability monitoring, control, and maintenance of the electric grid. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
- Manage the development, deployment, and implementation of Real-Time Power System Network Modeling and Applications associated with transmission and distribution systems.
- Identify technical issues associated with Real-Time Advanced Applications Tools (e.g., Power System Network Modeling, State Estimator, and real time Contingency Analysis and Real-Time Study environment) and work with vendor/Subject Matter Expert to provide resolution.
- Responsible for supporting the transmission/distribution-initiated projects related to Real-Time Power System Network Modeling and Power system Applications.
- Conduct training for team members and others in the operations and maintenance of Real-Time Power System Network Modeling and Applications, tools, and processes.
The essentials
- Bachelors degree in engineering.
- Two or more years of engineering experience in the field of Real-Time Power System modeling and applications for the electric utility industry.
The preferred
- Masters Degree in engineering, science/technical or other related discipline.
- California Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) License.
You should know
- This positions work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
