Position Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer, Ambulatory, Sacramento Market, executes, monitors, and evaluates assigned operations and programs within the entity/market. They will lead the company in a way that realizes the entity/market mission and ensures excellence. They will collaboratively provide executive leadership and management across a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from strategic framework to operational execution including management agreements of numerous services; serve as administrative liaison between CEO (Chief Executive Officer), medical staff, foundation, market, and Sutter Health System leadership. Responsible for delivering exceptional operational services that are compliant with all applicable state and federal regulatory requirements. This position serves as a role model to caregivers and represents the entity/market positively both internally and externally. Exercises necessary, appropriate authority and accountability for the facility's assigned areas, including quality of care, financial stewardship, service line development and caregiver engagement. Is responsible for implementing and monitoring policies and procedures that ensure high-quality, efficient, and compassionate patient care. Incumbents will work with service line leaders to promote planning, innovation, and problem solving to align with local and system strategy. Has authority and accountability for the assigned portfolio areas, including patient satisfaction, quality of care, financial goals, operational performance optimization, service line development and capital/ facility planning.

Education
- Bachelor's - Business, Health Care, or related field - required
- Master's - MHA, MBA - desired
- Prior experience demonstrating effective management of an entity is required.
- Prior experience demonstrating effective organizational performance improvement skills, in-depth working knowledge of integrated healthcare organization and administration, agency standards/compliance, and laws applicable to healthcare operations is required.
- Must have experience integrating various components and support systems of healthcare into a functional continuum of care.
- A thorough knowledge of healthcare administration, care delivery models with special knowledge in strategy, finance, planning, physician relations,human resource management and facilities and capital planning.
- A thorough knowledge of regulations affecting healthcare delivery is alsorequired.
- Must have thorough familiarity with healthcare administration in a unionized healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of all aspects ofentity operations, federal and CA state regulations, regulatory and related accreditation standards,and familiar with Title 22.
- Excellent team leadership and organizational skills are required.
- An ability to prioritize multiple demands and projects is critical.
- Proven written and oral communication skills demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be adept at public speaking and making persuasive presentations.
- Must demonstrate strong business acumen, entrepreneurial risk-taking ability, proactive attitude, and creativity in problem solving.

Pay Range is $158.35 to $214.24 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
