Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure services and software, including but not limited to:
- Hypervisor and server operating systems
- Enterprise Device Management (EDM) platforms
- Databases
- Backup solutions
- Web servers
- SaaS/PaaS/IaaS solutions
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure hardware, including, but not limited to:
- Servers
- Storage arrays
- Blade server environments
- Telephony equipment
- Networking equipment
- Create and maintain integrations and automation for and between various University systems
- Provide Tier 3 Help Desk support and problem resolution related to team responsibilities
- Work on-call shifts on a rotational schedule to provide after-hours support for the University
- Track user support requests related to assigned responsibilities in the University’s ticketing system.
- Provide on-site infrastructure support for geographically separated branch sites on an as-needed basis
- Participate in planning, guidance, and execution of large multi-month/year projects
- Collaborate closely with other members of the larger Information Technology Services team to ensure campus infrastructure needs are met.
- Interface with 3rd party/vendor support and engineering as needed
- Creation and maintenance of documentation for University infrastructure systems and processes, including but not limited to system configuration, process workflows, troubleshooting steps, and periodic reporting
- Remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending industry conferences, attending training or courses relevant to areas of team responsibility
- Conduct research and make recommendations on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of maintaining and advancing the University’s Enterprise IT infrastructure
- Perform other related duties as requested
Required Education, Certification, or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Computer Science or Information Technology), an equivalent combination of recognized, current IT certifications (e.g. VCP-DCV, MCSE, CCNA), and/or 5+ years’ proven experience in Systems Administrator, Network Administrator or similar roles.
Required Knowledge and Technical Skills (minimum requirements)

Physical Requirements
- The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time
