JOB SUMMARY
This position operates the blending system to produce the concrete mix.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures
- Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
- Operates the controls of the batching and delivery system to produce the proper concrete mix
- Follows and adheres to production schedule
- Provides feedback to optimize batch mix
- Ensure all mixing and cement delivery equipment is clean
- Monitors the activities of the batching scale for sand, cement, water, calcium and if used, liquid pigment
- Ensure proper levels of raw materials are maintained in the holding bins or silos
- Ensure reclaim water system is operating properly
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
- Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, and write effectively (English and Spanish bilingual preferred)
- Ability to observe, identify, deduce and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
- Quick learner and ability to work under minimal supervision
- Basic mathematical skills (i.e. ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to attention to details
- Ability to train other employees
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- No minimum education completion requirement
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
- Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
- Prolong standing or in stationary position
- Complete repetitive movements
- Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
