Position Objective:
With oversight from the Senior Director, Academic Affairs, the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration and maintenance of accreditation for the Luminis Health CME Program. This position requires a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and MedChi regulatory accreditation standards, as well as hospital policies. The CME Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the institution is substantially meeting the requirements of the ACCMEs policies, the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education and the AMA Physicians Recognition Award (PRA) Category 1 Credit in order to maintain the quality of our CME programs. Under the governance of the Medical Education & Library Committee, the CME Coordinator works in conjunction with the Committee Chair, Department Chairs, Service Chiefs, Conference Directors and other medical staff members to initiate, plan and implement all CME activities for the institution.
Essential Job Duties:

- Coordinates and manages all CME activities, including Regular Scheduled Series (RSS), live/internet and enduring materials, in accordance with ACCME/MedChi guidelines and the AMA Physicians Recognition Award (PRA) Category 1 Credit.
- Ensures CME participation on planning committees to develop opportunities for educational programs, initiate applications for new CME activities for approval, and direct compliance with all CME standards. Works with sponsoring department and staff to assist with development of event strategy, including format, audience, set-up, audiovisual and other needs with support from the program administration. Provides oversight of departments CME marketing compliance including brochures, invitations, social media and advertisements for CME activities
- Oversees and audits the maintenance of the LMS system to maximize accuracy and efficiency of the system, and documentation for accreditation requirements.
- Manages the full CME re-accreditation survey process to complete the re-accreditation application, preparation of statistical data, and participation in the accreditation site visit. Works closely with accrediting bodies and attends accreditation conferences/learning opportunities.
- Recommends and manages the full CME budget; including the provision of unrestricted educational grants, operations and capital needs.
- Leads CME projects including implementation of MOC, intra and internet updates, LMS, and other CME system needs.
- Completes the annual PARS reports, and progress reports, as needed.
- Recommends and develops CME policies for the system based upon current ACCME, MedChi and AMA standards.
- Administers the full scope of the Medical Education & Library Committee and ensures documentation for accreditation purposes. Develops and provides statistical reports including at least an annual review of all CME activities, materials for review and maintains minutes.
- Manages and oversees other CME staff.
Educational/Experience Requirements:.
- Bachelors degree
- Two to Three (3) years experience in Continuing Medical Education preferred
