We are seeking a Manager of Facilities here at MedRVA Healthcare. We are an independent, not-for-profit healthcare organization committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services to the community. With two state-of-the-art outpatient surgery centers, sixteen operating and procedure rooms, an imaging center, the region's only low vision center, and the MedRVA Foundation, we provide comprehensive and compassionate care to our patients.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position will be responsible for overall maintenance of the facilities ensuring the proper functioning, maintenance, cleanliness and safety in and of all areas of the Surgery Centers and Imaging Center. The role plays a crucial role in ensuring that our facility remains safe, efficient, and compliant with all regulatory standards. The Facilities Manager is also responsible for development, implementation and monitoring of the Life Safety Management program and the safety education of employees and staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees a team of two including a Facilities Technician and Environmental Services Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures the proper maintenance of the entire facility by adhering to all appropriate policies, standards and procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Ensures the facilities meet all State, Federal and regulatory requirements.
- Inspects the facility daily to ensure high quality standards are maintained.
- Proactively maintains and performs repairs to equipment and facility as needed.
- Documents and maintains appropriate logs, reports, inspections and repairs in accordance with CMS, AAAHC, ACR, and State/Federal regulatory requirements and standards.
- Performs, monitors and documents testing of equipment and all Environment of Care systems.
- Responds to emergency repair/maintenance situations in a professional manner. Responds to individual requests for service in a timely manner.
- Stays abreast and up-to-date with the Life Safety Code; changes and implements policies and changes regarding that Code accordingly.
- Stays abreast and up-to-date on all professional standards and policies as appropriate to include those of the accrediting bodies listed above, OSHA, and Local/State/Federal entities and makes changes as required.
- Conducts training and in-services for employees in regard to Life and Fire Safety, as well as Fire Extinguisher use. Monitors, evaluates and documents employees/staff preparedness for emergency situations.
- Acts as Safety Committee Co-Chair and assists in evaluating safety in terms of patient care and facility management on a quarterly basis. Documents and addresses any needs, concerns and issues related to safety and the environment of care.
- Coordinates hazard surveillance program and communicates findings to appropriate individuals and documents such.
- Participates in the incident/event reporting procedures and follows up on safety issues as appropriate.
- Serves as liaison alongside the CEO and Director of Operations with Fire Marshall, City Inspector and Safety Consultant and coordinates annual test.
- Coordinates and maintains facility emergency services policies and procedures via "Emergency Preparedness Manual".
- Project administration, finance, compliance, planning, design and construction.
- Knowledge of maintenance and operations.
- Possess analytic skills, decision making skills and a strong attention to detail needed to oversee construction and renovation projects.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, associate's degree or bachelor’s degree.
- Five (5) years experience in facility maintenance, physical plant operations, as well as supervisory, or administrative experience
