Job Description Summary:
Classroom Support Technicians are the main source of technological assistance for professors and presenters in classroom settings. The main responsibilities of a support technician entail:
• Answering phone calls made to the Classroom Support Hotline. • Working alongside CTS staff to provide support to university faculty, staff and sometimes, fellow students. • Assessing and resolving reported issues in the classroom. • Guiding professors and presenters on how to use classroom equipment. • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues in classroom equipment. • Writing classroom activity reports describing issues and solutions.
During downtime, Classroom Support Technicians may assist with the following:
• Equipment inventory and maintenance. • Replacement of broken classroom media equipment when applicable. • Maintenance and updates of Crestron software.
Requirements:
Preferred candidates will possess the following skills:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in contexts of customer service; the ability to handle potentially unfavorable situations. • Excellent interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to cultivate positive work relationships. • Working knowledge of media equipment operation and interfacing. • Well-developed problem-solving skills. • High degree of adaptability. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, Zoom, and PowerPoint. • Classroom Technologies will train any new technicians to be successful on the job.

CTS is currently interviewing primarily for Summer and Fall 2024.

Physical Demands Summary:
Should be able to carry laptop or similar device.
Should be able to efficiently walk to academic buildings on campus.
Occasional movement of heavy equipment (40 lbs.) is required, all under staff supervision.
