JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The incumbent must be capable of producing quality diagnostic images.
The MRI Technologist II is proficient with MRA imaging and 2D/3D reconstruction.
The incumbent processes images via the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System), prepares records of service performed, makes adjustments to equipment, reports any malfunctioning equipment to the Supervisor/Manager, and transports patients to and from the department.
The incumbent works efficiently to maintain scheduled patient appointments and unscheduled patient exams.
The incumbent works with high risk and critically ill patients. The incumbent serves neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
The incumbent instructs and directs students from the Radiologic Technology Program at SRJC during their clinical rotation at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital.
This position functions in a specialized area and must be available to participate in a varying work schedule, as part of the on-call rotation, on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Associate's: Health Science or equivalent education/experience
Other: Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists
OR ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist
OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider within 30 Days of hire
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Two years as a Radiologic Technologist performing general diagnostic imaging and one or more of the following modalities: Angio/Cath Lab, Computed Tomography, or Magnetic Resonant Imaging.
Experience in an acute care hospital.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
A complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in Magnetic Resonant Imaging.
A complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in general diagnostic radiography to include trauma radiography, routine fluoroscopy, pediatric radiography, surgical radiography, portable radiography.
UMRI safety/protection
Understanding of current departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Understands the concepts of:
Continuous Quality Improvement
Quality Control.
MSDS Program.
Infection Control
Proficiency in MRA imaging with 2D/3D reconstruction skills.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members of the diagnostic imaging department, staff members
of other departments, and the medical staff.
The ability to deal with patients from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds in an effective and respectful manner.
The ability to perform numerous duties -at a given time.
Ability to perform Special Procedures examinations with skill, accuracy, compassion, and tact.
