Lab Coordinator

Position Summary:

Catalent Pharma in San Diego, CA is hiring a Lab Coordinator. The Lab Coordinator will report to a Lab Supervisor and will be responsible for helping with the laboratory glassware cleaning, restocking, organizing, and maintenance of the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) analytical, formulation, and product containment laboratories. This position gives opportunities to expand knowledge of overall lab operations in a fast-paced, early phase focused, dynamic, Quality Control group.

This is a full-time position: Monday – Friday, 7am-3:30pm or 9:30am-6pm (candidate may select preferred hours).

The Role  

• Cleaning glassware, assisting with buffer and common stock solution preparation.
• Assist EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) with waste disposal.
• Restocking laboratory consumable supplies. Ensuring storage and work areas are clean.
• General orderliness of laboratory and maintaining laboratory supply inventories.
• Assist laboratory supervisor in procurement of laboratory materials.
• Purchasing, installing, and maintaining supplies and equipment.
• Daily verifications of various lab equipment (balances, Karl Fischer).
• Provide laboratory tours during new hire orientation.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate:

• High school diploma/GED required for minimum education level.
• 1+ year of laboratory exposure and basic chemistry techniques preferred.
• Knowledgeable with computer programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction (oral and written) is required.
• Physical requirements: Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Regular use of telephone and email. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and fax machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.

Pay:

• The anticipated salary range for this role in San Diego, CA is $45,000 - $50,000 annually. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc.  Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
