As the DCS Customer Support Chemist, you will support specific technologies as a part of a team that develops and maintains products for multiple Automotive OEM customers. You will be recognized as an expert in coatings technology and color. You will work onsite in Cleveland, OH and report to the DSC Customer Lead.
Main Responsibilities:
- Independently lead new color development and approval through the NPI Process for multiple customers.
- Support color development and effectively hand-off of color matches from the Color-Core Team to color development team to customer support team.
- Set up testing matrices for customer specification testing and other experimental designs as needed for product confirmations and customer approval.
- Create and maintain formulas in ERP systems.
- Support custom and special projects created to address customer requests and line / production issues.
- Establish best practices for color program management and hand-off protocols from design through NPI.
- Leverage statistical analysis DOE tools to implement strategic product development initiatives.
- Collaborate consistently with cross-functionally teams to ensure color launches OTIF.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or similar field required.
- 5+ years of experience in coatings or related experience.
- Ability to analyze situations and needs to set priorities accordingly.
- Previous leadership experience.
