Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Flight Operations Engineer to join our Airline Support Engineering team within the Flight Operations Support organization based in Seal Beach, California.
The selected engineer will provide consultation and technical support to airline customers in the areas of flight operations engineering and airplane performance in support of the introduction of new airplane models, improvements to airplane utilization and the promotion of safe and efficient operation of the entire fleet. This involves research and internal coordination to develop responses to flight operations and airplane performance questions from customers. The role entails frequent written, virtual, and in-person interaction with customer flight operations engineers. The selected candidate must possess clear, precise communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with airline customers around the world.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including, Associate and Experienced Engineers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Investigate flight operations inquiries and develop suitable solutions for customers
Support various Boeing flight operations products (including documents and software products) to customers and assist airlines with conceptual flight operations and airplane performance inquiries
Provide proactive support to customers on current flight operations issues through conferences, symposiums, and other methods
Provide onsite flight operations assistance and consultation to the assigned customer accounts
Some travel is required (approximately 5%)
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
3+ years of experience working with Aerodynamics, Airplane performance, or Flight Operations
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in aerospace engineering
Effective and precise communication skills
Experience interacting with airline customers and external aviation industry professionals
Typical Education / Experience:
Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). Summary Pay Range for Associate (Level 2): $81,600 - $110,400
Summary Pay Range for Experienced (Level 3): $100,300 - $135,700
