Plant Overview:
The Kraft Heinz Massillon factory is engaged in the manufacture of frozen food products, most particularly, frozen dinner entrees, spinach dip, and kids’ meal under the brand name of Smart Ones, Smart Made, Devour, Kraft, TGI Fridays and Crave. All items produced are frozen and under strict supervision of FDA, ODA, two (2) on-site federal USDA inspectors, and company quality inspectors. The Massillon, Ohio factory currently employs approximately 370 salaried, non-union hourly and union hourly employees. The Union hourly workers are represented by Local 17A of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union.
The factory currently operates production lines on day and afternoon shifts. The midnight shift is dedicated to sanitation, maintenance and warehouse; disassembling, cleaning, completely sanitizing all production lines and equipment, and reassembling them in preparation for the next day’s production operation. All products are micro-tested in the on-site Quality Assurance Laboratory. The products manufactured at the Massillon factory are distributed throughout the United States and Canada through retail and warehouse club outlets.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Participate/support the RMP (Risk Management Process) and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions. Manage a QRMP standard.
- Responsible for directing the warehouse crew in daily tasks (e.g. setup and return of materials).
- Instructs warehouse personnel in basic job functions, guidelines and good manufacturing practices.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned area.
- Responsible for the coordination of the area to meet or exceed company standards, goals and objectives.
- Must work with the SAP, cost report, inventory, shipping and receiving transactions and make adjustments as needed.
- Assist in ordering warehouse materials and supplies and submit/process PO’s through SRM.
- Assist in managing ADR/MUDA levels in plant and keep management aware of costs associated with disposals.
- Assist in managing RTV’s and regaining credits back from vendors.
- Responsible for auditing transactions, paper work, inventories and labeling to ensure accuracy.
- Responsible for maintaining check lists and setup sheets.
- Monitor and assist QA with “product recall” and “held product” policies and to report non-conformance.
- Incumbent is responsible for fulfilling all factory and corporate inventory control reports, audits and policies controlling Finished Goods inventories.
- Ensure all areas of storage are in compliance with USDA sanitation standards, FDA and OSHA.
- Fill in for absenteeism and vacation schedules as needed in Planning, Warehouse, Production Departments as needed.
- Backup the Material Planning Department with the daily planning, monitoring, evaluating and coordination of raw materials and packaging supplies to ensure production schedules are met.
- Assist Material Planners with ingredient contracts as needed.
- Assist Material Planner/Schedulers as needed with material procurement and transportation.
- Training and Safety – Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company’s Kraft Heinz Safety Process. Oversee safety processes including, but not limited to, goal setting, hazard recognition, and elimination, administration of safety procedures and corresponding corrective action, area inspection, job skills, and compliance training, accident investigation and safety meetings.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces policies and safety regulations.
- Required to fill in for other Warehouse team leads during absences.
Qualifications:
- Prefer minimum of Associate Degree and 1 to 3 years’ experience directing a work group or combination of both.
- Understand SPC, Quality standards, Inventory transactions using both manual and computer-based SAP programs or related systems.
- Work history involving both production and warehouse areas and interaction of both functionalities.
- Ability to work with and lead others as a team.
- Involvement in Continuous Improvement understand the principles and have experience working on a team.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra or geometry to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and volume.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
- Must have proficient computer skills [SAP, SRM, MS Office, web-based inventory and quality systems, Label software, Access; which includes creating and maintaining; spreadsheets, pivot tables, formulas, etc.
- Knowledge of RF Barcode system implementation and/or computerized warehouse management systems.
- Demonstrate reliability and good work ethics, quality work performance, attention to detail is a must, and maintain a good working relationship with all other departments.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, and organizational skills and must be detail and process oriented.
- Willingness to grow with the organization.
- Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and be able to identify and solve problems.
