This trusted community hospital is actively interviewing candidates for a Director of Patient Safety to oversee a complex Hospital Risk Management program. Join this experienced leadership team in a challenging and exciting role that will help pave the road to outstanding performance for years to come.
This 200+ bed medical center in Southern California is actively searching for a Director to lead the Patient Safety and Risk Management program. This Director will join an amazing hospital that offers the community a full range of services, including Oncology, Perioperative Services, Behavioral Health, and Cardiac Interventional procedures. This hospital, serving as a stabilizing facility for life-threatening events, works closely with the larger Trauma Facilities in the region to provide for its patients.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Quality, Risk, and Accreditation, the Patient Safety Director will develop, implement, and evaluate programs that address issues at the core of every acute care hospital environment; issues such as patient and staff safety, the collection and reporting of risk / quality data, ensuring that the organization is following proper compliance processes, and acting as one of the leads for TJC Survey proceedings and accreditations.
The Patient Safety Program Director will undertake a complex and integral role in the Hospital, and work with a wide array of healthcare professionals across the organization. This person will spearhead Risk Event and Incident Management, reporting metrics and data to the proper regulatory agencies. The Director will also play a large role in managing claims against the staff and physicians.
Other responsibilities that the Director of Patient Safety will take on are keeping track of legislative trends, following the impact they may have on healthcare. The ideal candidate has a background in hospital / healthcare Risk Management strategies, policies, and procedures. Though not required, Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) is certainly preferred.
The Patient Safety Director will find that Southern California has something for everyone. A short drive west will put you on the beautiful, sunny beaches and warm surf of the Pacific Ocean. Fun weekend getaways like Disneyland, Wild Rivers, and Knott’s Berry Farm are waiting around every corner. A huge number of highly-rated grade schools, secondary schools, and colleges make education (and continuing education) easily accessible. Add to this a wealth of national and state parks nearby, and you have a great place to raise a family.
In addition to the support that comes from working with the country’s most fragile patients, and working with the hospital’s most dedicated nurses, you’ll also find support from a grateful community. As an integral part of this trusted healthcare system, the Director of Patient Safety and Risk will also be eligible to receive a competitive compensation package, including generous benefits, paid time off, a comprehensive fitness center, and a great retirement plan.
