Job Summary:
Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Occupational Therapy program is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the full-time tenure track faculty position within the Department of Occupational Therapy at the rank of assistant or associate professor. This 12-month position is responsible for teaching courses each semester as well as active involvement with service and research. This position will report to the Program Director of the Occupational Therapy program and will be eligible for tenure. This position requires the ability to have an in-person presence on campus.
Required Qualifications:
Responsible for the delivery of graduate courses
Develop syllabi for assigned courses consisting of learning objectives in alignment with course descriptions and curriculum design for the OT program and in compliance with ACOTE standards.
Develop and deliver learning activities and assessments throughout the semester for assigned courses.
Hold weekly office hours, advise graduate students, and supervise student capstone projects.
Attend and participate in OT program/committee meetings, program activities, meetings, trainings, seminars, and campus events (when applicable)
Collaborate with the appropriate committees, faculty members, and administrators in ongoing curriculum development, program evaluation, ACOTE accreditation activities, and identifying strategies for continuous quality improvement.
Provide service to the program, university, and/or community.
Demonstrate active involvement in research/scholarship.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM/PREFEREDQUALIFICATIONS:
1. Earned terminal doctoral degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of five years of clinical experience in occupational therapy.
3. Occupational therapy license in the state of New Jersey or eligible
4. NBCOT certification or eligibility for certification
5. Demonstrated evidence in teaching graduate courses and using Learning Management System(s)
6. Demonstrated evidence in research/ scholarly achievement is preferred.
7. Demonstrated evidence in teaching in interprofessional courses is preferred.
8. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card
