Job Abstract

CACI is currently looking for a Network Engineer to join our team with the option of flexible work schedules all while developing next generation products for the NSA.

What You’ll Get to Do:

You’ll be a seasoned system Network Engineer performing a wide variety of duties including installations, debugging, maintenance, upgrades and general support on customer equipment. You will be a network professional capable of applying sound engineering practices, good judgement, and technical acumen to achieve both short and long terms goals as established by the client.

As a Network Engineer you will, perform services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents. Demonstrate experience with networking fundamentals such as, general LAN/CAN/WAN administration, VPNs, VTCs, firewalls, schedules conversions and cutovers, etc. Coordinate with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents. Translates business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders.

More About the Role:

• Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture.
• Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.
• Perform maintenance and upgrades of networks including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, hardware and networks.
• Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies while maintaining system backs ups and recovery capabilities.
• Understand the OSI model and its use to help visualize how the network communicates along with troubleshooting network problems.
• Demonstrated experience with network monitoring tools.
• Proactive monitoring of all network devices, service and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and continuity of operations.
• Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools. Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.
• Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) TDMA IP-based satellite systems, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) session performance,  VPN’s, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
 

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline and a minimum of ten years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity. Four (4) years of additional experience in Network Engineering can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.  

Certifications:

• Current or ability to obtain Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Current or ability to obtain Security+ related Certification
• Current or ability to obtain Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required.

A “TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly” clearance is required to begin employment. For this position, CACI has the ability to provide clearance sponsorship for qualified individuals.
