Sustainable Packaging and Waste Specialist
The Corporate Responsibility (CR) team’s mission is to support PVH’s brands, regions and functions, to drive Fashion Forward for good. We aim to embed sustainable business into PVH’s DNA – including strategy and visioning, culture, and business operations.
The Sustainable Packaging and Waste Specialist will focus on execution of PVH’s strategic objectives to meet PVH’s sustainable packaging and end waste targets and position PVH to deliver sustainable packaging to our customers. This will include managing data to assess our progress against PVH’s Forward Fashion targets, implementing environmental sustainability initiatives into business practices, and developing documentation and systems needed to scale sustainable packaging globally and address regulatory requirements. The Specialist will support in the rescoping of PVH’s end waste target, refocusing the ambition of operational waste and alignment to industry standards.
The successful candidate will exhibit excellent communication and project management skills, strong analytic capabilities, effective problem solving, and the ability to foster partnerships. Direct experience with packaging and/or waste is strongly preferred.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
- Drive execution of PVH’s progress on Forward Fashion Targets
- Support the Manager of Sustainable Packaging to develop packaging and operational waste roadmaps to achieve PVH’s Forward Fashion targets.
- Develop templates for roadmaps, own global consolidation, and communication on progress. Liaison with regions/brands on any questions on global material roadmaps.
- Develop a governance system to track the progress against the developed roadmaps
- Develop executive materials to communicate strategy, progress to date and recommended strategy updates
- Support the Manager of Sustainable Packaging to rescope and drive progress against PVH’s Operational Waste commitment, informed by relevant regulation and topic-specific progress.
- Leverage most recent global baseline data to determine the most material risk and opportunity areas that require target setting.
- Conduct landscape analysis and peer benchmarking to understand the industry best practice for waste reduction.
- Collect inputs/feedback from relevant corporate and regional brand stakeholders to create a revised global operational waste target, representative of regional progress and strategy.
- Support in stakeholder management and negotiations in target focus and KPI setting.
- Align with partner teams addressing additional waste segments (i.e. supply chain, water, textile, etc.) to ensure holistic representation of corporate waste strategy.
- Report progress towards internal PVH targets and related external commitments
- Lead regular baseline assessments on waste generation across office, retail, and distribution center facilities to inform corporate waste strategy.
- Liase with regional brand stakeholders to develop and maintain an aligned global calculation methodology.
- Aggregate regional baselines to calculate global operational waste footprint.
- Partner with Climate team to ensure accurate capture and calculation of waste footprint to inform GHG emissions reporting.
- Project manage data collection for reporting and baselining of key performance indicators related to packaging consumption annually.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is collected to support audits and quality checks.
- Disseminate baseline results in digestible format to stakeholders.
- Support the data analysis and writing to communicate program developments and achievements through various reporting mechanisms, such as the annual PVH CR report and key industry surveys
- Work closely with cross-functional leaders and external consultants to systemize and streamline PVH’s packaging and waste baselines and identify opportunities to leverage internal data to reduce manual reporting needs
- Work with the CR Systems team as a subject matter expert to advise on internal system updates to automate reporting and embed sustainability into our IT infrastructure
- Advise, equip and train associates to incorporate sustainable packaging and waste practices
- Partner with brand and region sustainability teams to create PVH associate educational materials , streamline processes across global brands, and facilitate forums for cross-divisional sharing of best practices including:
- Project manage the development and operationalization of PVH’s Global Sustainable Packaging Guidelines and train associates on sustainable packaging targets
- Project manage the development and operationalization of an operational waste hierarchy for implementation across PVH facilities.
- Partner with additional corporate functions to implement packaging and operational waste policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience: At least 5 years relevant experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Skills:
- Knowledge of packaging sustainability, terminology, functionality and supply chain preferred
- Knowledge of waste hierarchy principles, materials, waste streams and recycling practices preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with team leadership, external business partners, industry peers and overseas teams
- Knowledge of the apparel industry, consumer goods industry, product development or supply chain preferred
- Ability to explain complex data and content in a clear and impactful way with target audiences in mind
- Proficient in using MS Excel to combine and analyze data from various sources, and generate reports and graphics
- Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint
- Business acumen to partner with all brands, commercial regions, and corporate functions
- Strong problem solving abilities with a solutions oriented mindset
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically to deliver results
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment

Pay Range:$80,000 - $95,000
PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements.
