General R&D Management (GRM) comprises the management of the engineering organisation which includes development and revision of new and existing products or services. Covers monitoring of different engineering dimensions and priority setting and conflict resolution between the different organisational dimensions (if any). Contains formulation of long-term objectives, implementation of policies, and monitoring of engineering budget and development schedule. Comprises optimisation of product delivery and involvement in patent search, technology surveillance, technology trends, and is main contributor in innovation management of the company.

Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required
Proven track record in estimating and planning complex features from high level requirements
15+ years of experience in developing or managing features for 1830 transmission sub-system, line cards and application software is required
Ability to work closely and effectively with the Product Line Managers to plan for the upcoming release content
Ability to effectively track development team progress, generate defect and progress reports and clearly present the status
Interpret critical internal or external business issues and develop innovative solutions that help to sustain competitive advantage.
Plan and negotiate the development team tasks and deliverables between the feature teams and products.
