The Operations Manager will lead all aspects of a multi-product (Cell Therapy, & Single Use Assemblies/Final Fill Solutions) operation at the Life Sciences Manufacturing Facility in Gaithersburg, MD.
Will ensure customers' expectations are exceeded by leading the plant to its full potential, delivering high quality products at market leading levels. This is accomplished by identifying and delivering continuous improvement activities that enhance employee performance, manufacturing efficiency, equipment up-time, product quality, and operating costs.
Will manage cross-functional projects that enhance efficiency, add capacity, support future growth, and prioritize CAPEX investments.
Will lead, develop & coach all manufacturing employees, including salaried production supervisors, process engineers, and hourly manufacturing technicians, ensuring the completion of all standard work, projects, and deliverables safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Operations Management:
Manages and supports front line supervisors of the Cell Therapy, &, Final Fill
Plans/directs plant activities such as plant personnel engagement, safety performance, plant production, controlling product cost, plant OEE, Production Utilization, scrap, internal ppm.
Promotes a safe working environment, comply with proper use of PPE, reports/investigates incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings.
Maintains good safety and environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
Oversees production environment in accordance with GMP & QMS requirements with a strong focus on safety.
Trains employees on and implements control systems to eliminate product discrepancies.
Interfaces with managers/customers to ensure our quality commitments are met.
Prepares & Operates within the operating budget
Assures compliance to all regulatory requirements – FDA, OSHA, OFCCP, EPA, etc. Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOPs, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements
Continuous Improvement:
Actively drives Operational Excellence and WCM within departments and establishes department objectives based on the WCM management approach.
Provides leadership for quality standards, production efficiency, training needs, continuous improvement/cost reductions, scrap improvement, safety standards and environmental compliance.
Leads development projects supporting the site’s Policy & Strategy Deployment.
Sets goals and objectives & assess performance of team members.
Leads Operational Excellence systems driving OEE, Utilization, & Scrap to World Class Levels
Collaborative Leadership:
Manages cross functional projects involving areas of direct ownership and collaborative efforts throughout the plant, to position facility well to add capacity to support future growth, prioritize CAPEX investment, align with corporate initiatives and lead next generation technological improvements.

Bachelor's Degree - Engineering (mechanical, chemical, materials, technology, etc.), Quality, Operations, Business or related field; Required.
Master's Degree - Business or related field; Preferred.--
10+ years of progressive experience & exposure (with proven impact) in various roles/capacities within Manufacturing Operations (including Production, Supply Chain, et al); Required.
Leadership experience (with direct & indirect- management/influence of teams & stakeholders; including project-, change- and conflict management; Required.
Continuous improvement experience; Required.
Experience working within Regulated industry; Required.--

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $99,900 to $154,800 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $112,887 to $174,924 . Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
