About being our Project Designer or Sr. Project Designer - Water
As a Project Designer or Senior Project Designer, you will utilize your knowledge and expertise in water and wastewater to organize and execute the technical quality and coordination of a broad range of project assignments requiring an extensive knowledge in all aspects of the planning and design of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects, while understanding client goals, establishing effective client relationships, and supporting the team to achieve set goals.
Responsibility Highlights for our Project Designer or Sr. Project Designer - Water
- Work on water/wastewater projects, which may include research & analysis, road/storm/sewer drainage, pipelines, and hydrology
- Design using Civil3D and practical application of standard water industry software packages is desirable
- Coach and mentor staff and coordinate with them for design efforts
- Work with fellow team members and supervisors to provide all necessary design, coordination, and follow-up work to ensure agency requirements and quality standards are met
- Prepare plans and profiles, compiling research and development of technical reports, calculations, cost/quantity estimates, and specifications in order to provide clear, traceable, and coordinated interpretation of the design / drawings for construction
- Participate in site visits, client meetings, and QA/QC
- Assist and lead efforts for agency approvals and be familiar with local regulatory requirements and procedures
- Develop sewer/water models
- Represent Psomas and client to agencies and contractors
Minimum Qualifications to be our Project Designer or Sr. Project Designer - Water
- Minimum 10+ years of civil/water engineering industry experience
- Design experience of pipelines, pump stations, water production wells, reservoir facilities, and lift stations
- Possess thorough understanding of concepts of schedule, budget, and scope of services
- Experience in providing technical training of engineers and designers
- Experience in writing technical specifications, preparation of engineer's estimates, and project scheduling
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D and experience in standard water/wastewater industry software

- A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $95,000 - $130,000/salary depending on experience
Compensation may be adjusted for well qualified candidates - 8 Paid Holidays & 3-4 Weeks of PTO (depending on experience)
