About the Team
The Tax Team at Nutanix is a geographically dispersed team consisting of around 10 members located in the United States, India, and the Netherlands. With their collective expertise, the team has played a crucial role in helping Nutanix grow from a pre-IPO stage to a profitable position within a span of less than 10 years. One unique aspect of our team is its ability to navigate through the complexities of international tax regulations and optimize Nutanix's tax strategies on a global scale. Your Role
- Lead the annual and quarterly worldwide income tax provision process including the effective tax rate, deferred tax calculations, taxes payable, uncertain tax positions, tax account reconciliations, journal entries, and other supporting schedules.
- Lead the timely and accurate preparation of the Company’s consolidated US federal and State tax return and manage any open audits/notices.
- Prepare quarterly technical memos on matters related to the tax provision and compliance and prepare/review tax-related SEC disclosures
- Ensure effective internal controls are maintained and documented to satisfy Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 key control requirements.
- Manage co-sourcing and outsourcing arrangements with our external service providers for tax return preparations in U.S., Canada, and LATAM and projects such as R&D credits
- Prepare quarterly and long-term GAAP and Non-GAAP effective tax rate forecasting
- Coordinate with international teams with respect to preparation of non-U.S. tax provisions
- Monitor tax legislation and changes in tax laws to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Research, assess and document federal and state tax issues. Provide guidance on proposed and enacted tax legislation, keep abreast of tax law changes to manage risk, and identify potential planning opportunities.
- Support the design and implementation of tax technology tools and data management solutions to automate and reduce risk in the global tax function.
- Build and maintain partnerships with internal teams, such as Accounting, FP&A, legal.
- Train, mentor and develop direct reports
What You Will Bring
- 12+ years of income tax experience in public accounting firm and/or private industry.
- Strong knowledge of corporate income tax compliance and ASC 740 accounting with in-depth knowledge of technical accounting and SEC reporting regulations. Minimum 6+ years’ hands-on experience in ASC 740 income tax provisions with one of the large public accounting firms or multi-national corporate tax department.
- U.S. International tax experience with complete execution of complex projects.
- Experience working with NetSuite or other ERP system, as well as ONESOURCE Tax Provision tool and/or Alteryx.
- Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to work and drive process improvement in a fast-paced complex environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills and agility with excellent written, verbal, and strong people skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and align teams to work towards common goals.
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Tax and/or Finance. MST and/or CPA required.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 184,240 and USD $ 368,520 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
