We are seeking a high performing, experienced, and energetic Manager for our Software Program Management Office.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading subordinate managers and individual contributors, coordinating multiple projects, managing risk, and providing status communications for cross-functional programs.  You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders across multiple organizations within HP and our partners.  You will need to operate in complex disciplines, navigate ambiguous situations, and exercise independent judgment in developing project goals and direction.  

Responsibilities
• Provides direct and ongoing leadership for an organization of multiple subordinate managers and/or individual contributors coordinating, managing, and leading programs to drive the engineering development and implementation of products and service offerings.
• Leads a complex technical space and establishes a solid program around it with defined goals, program charters and long-term strategies.
• Applies expert subject matter knowledge across businesses, functions, or regions and drives change initiatives.
• Drives and supports all phases of product development for multiple products across the organization.
• Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
• Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.
• Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.

• Provides overall people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in engineering development and implementation, project planning tools and software packages, people management, or a related field.
