Zurich North America is hiring a Head Professional Liability & Cyber - Corporate Account Segment for our Financial Lines Insurance Underwriting Team which handles all large publicly traded and private companies domiciled in the United States for our team in New York. This is a hybrid position that will require three days per week in the office.
As a member of Zurich's Underwriting management team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting management and marketing skills. Specifically, you will manage a market facing underwriting unit, and aid in making appropriate underwriting decisions.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Managing market facing underwriting team including Underwriting managers and underwriters.
- Identifies new growth opportunities with key distributors for areas of responsibility.
- Ensure that accounts are qualified, and meet with the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
- Along with underwriters in areas supervised, make agents/broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.
- Oversee negotiations of Terms & Conditions and closes deals.
- Ensure cross-sell within areas of responsibility to increase product density with the account.
- Provide continuous coaching on sales best practices, mentor staff to develop strong broker and client networks as related to industries underwritten by Business Unit.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier or Risk Management area within the Commercial Insurance industry
OR
- Bachelors Degree with 20 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area within the Commercial Insurance industry
AND
- Experience in Experience in a specialized line of business or segment
- 2 or more years of people management experience

- Bachelors Degree
- CPCU
- Advanced knowledge of Professional Liability & Cyber product lines and commercial insurance industry
- Strong Broker retail relationships nationally
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent skills in relationship building
- Strong presentation skills

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $200,000.00 - $260,000.00.
