First American's Sequoia Group is newly formed to drive a generational paradigm shift in the way real estate is transacted. Gone will be the days of time-consuming manual Title search & examination for every property. We are re-architecting how our industry works by leveraging our unique living title data, automated search & examination processes, and data driven risk decisioning. Our approach will remove friction from the real estate closing process, create certainty and speed through data and analytics, and offer a seamless delivery experience to real estate agents, lenders, title agents and homebuyers. This will not only transform our industry, but also directly impact >90% of First Americans $9B+ in annual revenues, a mission and team we will invest hundreds of millions of dollars behind over the next 3-5 years.
The Principal Product Manager will play a key role in helping us continue our innovative approach of building and delivering advanced solutions to our markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and communicating the strategic path of both current and future Sequoia Group products as well as the day-to-day decisions regarding product development and product releases.
What you’ll do
- Develop the long-term product expansion roadmap and strategy that focuses on a ‘first of its kind’ Title Data Platform that will drive transformative changes for our industry.
- Own & communicate the product vision for your area of ownership. Guide the process for creating product roadmaps that balance the flexibility of Agile development with long-term planning needs of the org.
- Work closely with design, engineering, and partner product teams to build and launch county / state initiatives as Sequoia scales nationally.
- Leveraging a strong product sense to generate requirements that will help us scale our product expansion faster.
- Collaborate closely with partners to design, prioritize, and launch critical automation tools and experiments in support of product scaling.
- Product Launch and Adoption: Collaborate with marketing to develop go-to-market strategies and support the successful launch of new features and products
- Project management planning, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing projects. Proficient in applying project management principles to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Advise and guide Product leaders, clarifying priorities and scope.
- Establish our product priorities, align strategic objectives and oversee the management & optimization of workflows, meetings and the product/design feedback process.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business executives and engineering teams on align product strategy with business objectives.
- Own difficult conversations, act calmly and maintain accountability. Create connections between teams and functional groups to resolve dependencies and project blockers.
- Actively share knowledge across teams.
- Monitor and report on product KPIs and team milestones.
- Present Product & Design vision to other senior executives, articulate decisions, and incorporate feedback into the product development cycle.
Experience Required
- 7+ years of product management experience leading large scale digital product platform builds (ideally from 0-1)
- 1+ year working cross-functionally implementing growth infrastructure to scale a product
- Previous experience working in a high-performing product management organization within high-growth environments.
- Experience shipping large, complex products that ideally span B2B and internal tools.
- Quantifiable previous experience driving customer focus - evidence of working backwards from customer needs, diving deep into market and customer research to understand what to build and what to adjust.
- The capacity for self-motivation, independent initiative and creative problem-solving. A diligent attention to detail and strong technical intuition, as well as the ability to set and manage expectations at the executive level.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills - ability to communicate product vision and roadmap across all levels of audiences & job functions.
Pay Range: $ 189,000 - $207,000 annually
This hiring range is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range of possible compensation at the time of the posting and is subject to change. The actual compensation offered will be determined by various factors, which may include a candidate’s education, training, experience, and geographic location.
