The Role
The Adult League Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistical aspects of adult leagues, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering high-quality competitive experiences for participants within USTA Middle States (USTA MS). Reports to the Senior Director of Competition.
- Develop and implement adult tennis league programs within USTA MS, including league seasons, divisions and match schedules.
- Manage adult league coordinators, while collaborating with captains and facilities to coordinate league operations and ensure functioning of the leagues.
- Promote adult leagues to tennis clubs, facilities, providers and individual players within USTA MS through various channels, including social media, email and community outreach.
- Engage with league participants to address inquiries, provide assistance and foster a sense of community and camaraderie among players. Identification/recruitment and training of captains.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for league participants, providing information, mentorship and support regarding league registration, rules and procedures.
- Communicate league details, schedules and updates to participants, captains and facilities through email, phone, social media and other communication channels.
- Coordinate league championship match play, including scheduling, court assignments and match supervision to ensure fair and organized competitions.
- Plan and organize league events, such as season captains meetings, playoffs and championships to enhance participant engagement and enjoyment.
- Record match results accurately, updating league standings and statistics in real time.
- Generate reports on league performance, participation trends and feedback for review and analysis.
- Ensure USTA regulations, rules and guidelines are followed throughout the league season.
- Monitor league competitions for fair play, sportsmanship and compliance with rules and regulations which include reviewing player’s NTRP computer ratings.
Who You Are
- College degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years of industry/business experience.
- Excellent organizational, communication, administrative, and management skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to a positive work environment. Ability to work well with a mix of people and personalities, build relationships and network.
- Outstanding customer service skills and ability to put the customer first. Proficiency working with, guiding and supporting volunteers.
- Inclusive problem solver with the ability to work collaboratively with and build trust with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of USTA programs and tennis industry preferred.
- Proficient with various computer systems and ability to learn new programs and software.
- Meet travel demands, work nights and weekends as required.
