Job Summary

Operates the specific vehicles used for the transport of products and the extraction of materials from the material production sites (quarries, etc..) in observance of the safety guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

Complete Daily pre/post equipment inspections - report as needed.
Ensure areas under your scope of responsibility remain in environmental compliance and complete any needed environmental reports.
Ensure fill is placed in accordance with Fill Operating Plan (FOP) and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure site remains follows all MSHA, OSHA and EPA standards.
Inspect equipment prior to shift for safety, environmental and maintenance defects.
Inspect wear items on equipment & report as needed to shop, foreman, and management.
Load hoppers and trucks with limited spillage.
Other duties as assigned.

Skills

For Excavators - Capable of setting and loading trucks efficiently to optimize production and be able of using rock breaker and/or processor attachments.
For Dozers - Capable of carrying a flat grade and adapt to fluctuating terrain including steep slopes. Be able to finish slopes with a slope board.
For Loaders - Has the ability to minimize overloading of customer’s trucks and remaining complaint with DOT weight restrictions.
Ability to understand and follow Employee Handbook and Safety Policies.
Follow oral and written plans and directions.

Physical Requirements

Ability to use hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need require.
Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need emerge.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the requirement emerge.
Ability to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workday.
