Job Summary
The Machine Shop Technician utilize drawing specifications and work instructions to manufacture & inspect metal molds, fixtures, and tooling used in medical device manufacturing.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow drawings & specifications to manufacture metal molds, tooling and fixtures.
- Inspect manufactured parts to meet required quality and other standards.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Perform daily tasks as directed by supervisor.
- Conduct Repairs as required, including mold polishing, mold ID engraving, mold welding and assembly.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Support equipment assembly, production and maintenance, as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Technical Degree, preferred.
- Machinist/Machine Shop experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to wear required Safety shoes and work in a machine shop setting.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow equipment drawings and diagrams.
- Understanding of day-to-day machine shop operations and practices.
- Basic knowledge in lathe, milling machines, and tools used in machine shop setting.
- Ability to handle tools and measuring equipment.
- Good close vision abilities for inspection.
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
