Technical Writer Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to assist one of our clients in Chantilly, VA to create high-quality technical documentation for their company. The Technical Writer will work closely with the engineering team to create accurate, clear, and concise user guides, manuals, specifications, and other technical materials. The main responsibility of this role is to create documentation that is easily understood by technical and non-technical users.
Technical Writer Responsibilities:
Create and maintain a variety of technical documents including user manuals, design specifications, and other technical documentation.
Work with Engineers to ensure technical accuracy and completeness of documentation.
Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.
Participate in team meetings and communicate project status to team members.
Research, analyze, and organize complex technical information into clear, concise, and readable documents.
Ensure the accuracy of all technical information by establishing and adhering to style guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop supporting material such as diagrams, graphs, and illustrations to enhance documentation.
Technical Writer Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in mechanical engineering or other technology-intensive fields.
Experience developing technical documentation targeted to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficient in writing and editing technical documentation with a strong understanding of technical concepts and terminology.
Proficient in using authoring tools like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.
Experience with content management systems (CMS) is preferred.
Keen eye for detail and an excellent ability to organize information into a structured format.
Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
